Job Description Golden State Government Relations is seeking a highly organized and responsible Account Clerk/Receptionist to join our growing team. In this position, you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial and office operations of our organization to keep it running smoothly. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining organizational processes and systems including filing, billing, AR/AP, and payroll.
Ultimately, the Account Clerk/Receptionist duties are to ensure the internal operations of the company run smoothly with a strong focus on client and vendor satisfaction.
Recording daily financial transactions, including purchases, receipts, sales and payments using QuickBooks
Invoicing clients, entering bills from invoices, and receivers for purchases
Follows up with customers on past due invoices
Generates weekly AP/AR reports
Coordinates with Bookkeeper to insure the financial records of the organization are accurate
Completes required government filings for company and clients including ethics and disclosure reports
Maintains office supplies
Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests
Maintains and updates filing system. Retrieves information from files when needed
Opens office in morning; keeps office a clean and professional workplace
Schedule new-client consultations and book conference room
Assists staff with research calls and internet searches
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Solid organizational skills, including time-management
Strong client-facing and teamwork skills
Hands-on experience with Quickbooks
Additional Qualities of Interest
Hands-on experience with Google Suite including Gmail, docs, sheets, etc.
Relevant higher education such as career certificate in Bookkeeping or Associate’s Degree or current enrollment in similar program
Alternative or related professional training is a plus (e.g. paralegal, graphic design, financial management or other)
Compensation Starting rate of $17 an hour with raise to $18 after three month probationary period. This is a part-time (25 hours per week), non-exempt position. Additional compensation and benefits after probationary period include; 401(k) with employer match, PTO, and paid holidays.
Schedule M-F from 7am to 12pm.
